Sex & Intimacy Therapy for Highly Sensitive People

Online Sex Therapy in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina

Sex: it can feel like a loaded word all in itself. The impact of purity culture, past sexual traumas, and all the messages you have been told throughout your life have left you feeling like sex is anything but safe, fun, or carefree. And this is heavy and impacts your relationships - with others and yourself. You don’t even know what it would feel like to release all the heaviness and ick around sex. But a part of you knows that deep down, you can heal from the heaviness around sex. And a part of you knows that it’s been holding you back. Imagine sex feeling so much lighter, more fun, more carefree, more safe, and way more connecting.

Begin to Release The Darkness Around Sex

All of what you have been taught or been through related to sex is changeable. It IS possible to heal and release the heaviness or darkness around sex so that you can fully BE YOU and tap into your sexuality without shame. Without the ick. Without the negative thoughts. And you can actually safely enjoy sex and have fun with it. Yes, have FUN with it!

The best part (and maybe most nerve-racking) is that I can help you. I know it feels terrifying to lay it all out there and talk about sex with a stranger, and you will soon see that I am safe, calm, patient, and an expert in this area so that you can do the healing at your own pace…and actually have fun with sex! Let’s connect for a free consultation.

Enhance connection, pleasure, confidence, & comfort with your sexuality.

It's no secret that discussing sexual matters can be challenging. It can be hard to even acknowledge such issues, let alone talk about them with a partner or therapist. Processing these matters with a non-judgmental and knowledgeable therapist can be the supportive environment you need to gain insight and understanding to heal and embrace your sexual self. Despite initial anxiety and discomfort, an increase in desire, intimacy, communication, and connection can be discovered.

What is Sex Therapy?

Sex Therapy is a treatment that can help you explore your sexual compatibility, overcome sexual inhibitions, release shame and guilt, build a sex life that works for you, learn new tools and skills for communicating about sex, and talk to a certified sex therapist. It may be described as sex therapy, intimacy therapy, relationship therapy, or any combination of these terms. Sex therapy is a traditional form of psychotherapy and can help individuals or couples.

Sex therapy is therapy provided by a professional psychotherapist with advanced training in human sexuality, sexual issues, and healthy sexuality. Working with a sex therapist can help you release any shame or guilt stemming from childhood experiences or trauma that may have affected your sexuality and relationships.

A sexual therapist who specializes in sex-related concerns can assist you in addressing these sensitive matters with greater confidence and sensitivity, creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore and resolve any sexual concerns you may have.

What is an HSP Sexual Therapist?

As an HSP sexual therapist, I have professional training in working with highly sensitive people as well as clinical training as a certified sex therapist. I have an in-depth understanding of the highly sensitive trait and how it can impact your sexual experiences and relationships. This knowledge and expertise allow me to provide sensitive and effective support to HSPs who may have difficulty discussing or addressing sexuality. As an HSP myself, my personal experiences also inform my practice.

Through regular therapy sessions, I create a compassionate and non-judgmental space that promotes open and honest communication. In this space of safety and comfort, I work with you to explore your sexuality and relationships, taking into account your unique needs as a highly sensitive person. Grounded in a holistic and trauma-informed practice, therapy identifies and addresses any underlying issues that may be impacting sexual health and well-being, such as anxiety, trauma, or shame.

What To Expect in Sex Therapy

Sex therapy is talk therapy, like other traditional psychotherapy approaches. Treatment is tailored to the needs of the client (and individual or couple). Sex Therapy is psychotherapy that focuses on concerns related to sexuality, gender, intimacy, desire, relationships, connection, sexual health, life transitions, vitality, and more. Addressing sexual concerns is often a part of healing other issues for individuals or couples. Couples may be given exercises to complete between sessions.

Sex therapy does not involve sexual behavior, excitement, touch, or massage. The therapy session is a safe space to discuss your questions, concerns, and issues related to sexuality.

How Long Treatment Lasts

Treatment typically begins with weekly sessions that are 50 minutes each. This may move to bi-weekly or monthly sessions as progress is made. I work with clients collaboratively to define treatment goals and the plan for reaching them. The length of treatment varies and will be discussed after your initial assessment at regular intervals over the course of treatment.

The therapy session is a safe, non-judgmental space to process, understand, and work through your sexuality-related issues. We go at your pace and work together to determine the treatment plan.
